The University of Glasgow is one of the United Kingdom’s oldest and most prestigious seats of learning. Founded in 1451, it is the second oldest University in Scotland and the fourth oldest in the UK.

The Centre for Development Studies is located mainly in the Department of Economics of the University of Glasgow and is responsible for co-ordinating and developing teaching and research in development studies.
