All For One, And One For All? An Examination Of The Commonwealth And The Challenges It Faces
Contributed by The Editors
  • Are you interested in international relations, politics, and other related disciplines?
  • Do you want to learn about the Commonwealth, its institutions, and the role it plays in tackling the major problems facing the world today?

  • Do you want the opportunity to help develop your career prospects?

The Commonwealth Policy Studies Unit (CPSU), a think tank based in London, is holding its Annual Summer Conference for Young People from the 2 – 4 July 2007 at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, Russell square, London. The conference will provide delegates with an introduction to the Commonwealth, before looking specifically at its work in two key areas: Climate Change and the Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s).

The Commonwealth, with more than two-thirds of its population under 29 years old, has long realised the importance of engaging young people in pursuit of its policy aims.  Since its inception, the CPSU has been fully committed to this approach and we believe that the dynamism and drive of young people can be harnessed to cultivate new ideas that will assist in the evolution of the Commonwealth.

The 3-day conference is aimed at those aged between 18-30 and will include presentations by senior diplomats, academics, journalists, politicians, and Commonwealth staff. The CPSU believes that the conference will provide delegates with an invaluable insight into the work of one of the world’s foremost international organisations.

The conference will include a variety of presentations, workshops, and panel discussions and will offer delegates an unparalleled opportunity to develop their career prospects in an environment where they can network informally with prospective employers.

The cost for the entire conference is £45 per person. The CPSU is a not-for-profit organisation and this nominal fee will include access to all events, refreshments and lunch every day.
