Regional course to tackle land redistribution

A five-day conference entitled "Land Redistribution in Africa - Learning from Experience", organised by the World Bank's regional office, Southen African Regional Poverty Network, and France's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, started on 13 March 2006 in Pretoria, South Africa.

Participants from Namibia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Kenya, and South Africa gather to discuss this highly political and difficult development issue, its various mechanisms, the African experience's successes and failures, progress to date as well as land redistribution implementation within a sustainable development perspective.
